Course Outline

The course provides an introduction to electricity and is designed for engineers working with Domestic and/or Non –Domestic Gas.

Course content: -

  • Basic Electrical Principles
  • Electric Circuits
  • Typical Electrical Components found on Gas Appliances
  • Circuit Diagrams
  • Wiring Exercises
  • Use of a Multimeter
  • Positive Isolation
  • Basic Electrical Safety Tests
  • Fault finding Procedures
  • Electrical Shock

Entry Qualification

Candidate should be Gas Safe Register approved engineers.

No formal electrical qualifications are required although a working knowledge of electricity would be desirable.

Re-Assessment Domestic Core + Appliances costs cover up to 4 Appliances. If further appliances are to be renewed, a charge of £ 80 per appliance will be incurred.

Additional appliances (not previously held) will be charged at £ 145 each.

Registration Fees: In some instances registration fees will not be included.

Current rates: Domestic £65, Non- Domestic £85, Unvented Hot Water £40, LPG £45, OFTEC £45
