This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in core commercial gas work by practical and knowledge and understanding assessment;

This Gas Safety Assessment comprises of 12 Core Competences:

1. Gas Safety Legislation
2. Gas Emergency Actions and Procedures
3. Characteristics of Combustion and the Use of Flue Analysis Equipment
4. Commerical Ventilation Requirements
5. Installation of Pipework and Fittings (up to 28mm in size)
6. Checking and/or Setting Commercial Supply and Meter Regulators
7. Identification of Unsafe Situations and the Use of Emergency Notices and Warning Labels
8. The Operation of and Positioning of Emergency Isolation Controls and Valves
9. Checking and Setting Commercial Appliances/Equipment Burner Pressures up to and Including 21mbar
10. The Operation and Checking of Appliances Gas Safety Devices and Controls
11. Commercial Appliance Flueing Requirements
12. Re-establish Existing Gas Supply and Relight Commercial Appliances

Entry Qualification

Category 1 Candidates experienced Gas Engineers who wish to renew their COCN1 qualification. issued either within or outside of the UK

Category 1 Candidates who have allowed their qualification to lapse for more than 12 months and Category 2 Candidates may also access this course.
